About Sibanye Stillwater

Out of South Africa, this company now stretches across five continents, pulling together mines, processing plants, and ventures on a global scale. Not just digging things up – its recycling game stands out, especially when it comes to grabbing valuable metals from old car catalysts. Platinum, palladium, and rhodium rank among its biggest outputs worldwide. Gold too – it ranks high there as well. Alongside those, lesser-known but vital elements like iridium and ruthenium come through, plus chrome, copper, and nickel as extras.

Lately, attention shifted toward battery-related minerals, expanding what it pulls from rock and scrap alike. Recycling efforts grow stronger each year, feeding into smarter reuse while reshaping how waste gets another life. Old tailings piles once forgotten are now part of a wider push, spreading operations further into recovery work around the planet.

About This Bursary

Each year, just a few bursaries get handed out through the Sibanye Stillwater Bursary Programme to people aiming for an undergraduate degree at any South African university. While spots are tough to secure, those selected gain strong support heading into jobs – often moving fast toward high-level positions. Because they see learning as key to job preparedness, Sibanye Stillwater backs these learners with opportunities to begin working within the company later on.
